7.Indo-US Grants :

a.U.S.-India Bilateral Collaborative Research Partnerships (CRP) on the Prevention of HIV/AIDS (R21):
This Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) solicits Exploratory/Developmental (R21) applications from United States (U.S.)-funded institutions with an Indian-institution partner to establish Collaborative Research Partnerships (CRP) in the field of HIV/AIDS prevention with an emphasis on topical microbicides as well as other modes of HIV/AIDS prevention

b. Budget and Project Period:
The total project period for an application submitted in response to this funding opportunity may not exceed two years. Direct costs are limited to $275,000 USD over an R21 two-year period, with no more than $200,000 USD in direct costs in any single year.

8.Funding Opportunities in Netherlands: 

a. Focused on cooperation with India:
Utrecht University offers Short Stay Fellowships for PhD Students from China and India in 2008

  • Joint Research in Nanosciences, Nanotechnologies, Materials and new Production Technologies (European Commission)                                     
  • For 2008, the European Commission has reserved 5 million euro ($7,500,000) for collaborative research projects of Indian and European researchers in the field of Nanosciences, Nanotechnologies, Materials and new Production Technologies.

9.Focused on cooperation with India:

a. The Netherlands Organization for Scientific Research (NWO):
NWO promotes scientific research at Dutch universities and institutes through nearly 120 different research programmes and grants. Their total annual budget amounts to 433 million euro ($649,000,000)

b. Innovational Research Incentives Scheme:
NWO has a research funding scheme for talented researchers and awards about 700 million euro in 2008 to excellent researchers who are among the best 10 to 20 per cent of their age group. The funding scheme is open to researchers from all over the world, but they have to do (part of) their research at a Dutch institution.

c. Seventh Framework Programme (European Commission):
The Seventh Framework Programme (FP7) bundles all research-related EU initiatives together under a common roof playing a crucial role in reaching the goals of growth, competitiveness and employment. It is also a key pillar for the European Research Area (ERA). The European Commision signed an agreement with India covering Science & Technology. India is one of the International Co-operation Partner Countries.
