VTU-NOKIA WORKSHOP on 'Qt' By

Target Audience:

Newbies in Qt development who have next skills

  1. Good C++ knowledge, including solid understanding of inheritance,
     polymorphism, virtual functions concepts;
  2. Some practical experience of development in Linux environment (if not, we have to discuss possibility to add additional topics in our schedule);
  3. Understanding Makefile format

Main training goals:
            To develop solid understanding Qt architecture and style;
            To provide practical exercises for real experience of Qt development.
The training program is being reviewed and will be published soon. Here is the list of potential topics which training will be focus on:

  1. QT introduction
    1. Meta-object system, signals and slots in depth.
    2. Common Qt application architecture
    3. Tables and lists: Standard and user models, delegates
    4. 2D graphics
    5. Networking
    6. Qt for mobile

Success Criteria
Participant is able independently (for small projects):
            Create Qt application project;
            Define high level Qt application architecture;
            Implement and test application logic;

To reach this level we are planning next types of work:
            Lectures with fundamentals overview;
            Instructor-led trainings for getting practical experience;
            Individual (or in pair) work on course project.
